1. Introduction
UPITranzact respects your privacy and gives you full control over your account and personal data. Users can request deletion of their UPITranzact account and associated personal data at any time.
This page explains how to request account deletion, what data is deleted, and what information may be retained for legal and regulatory purposes.
2. Who Can Request Account Deletion
- Registered users of the UPITranzact mobile application
- Merchants or business users registered with UPITranzact
- Users who are no longer actively using the service
3. Steps to Request Account Deletion
Option 1: Email Request
Send an email from your registered email address to:
Please include the following details:
- Registered mobile number
- Registered email address
- Merchant ID (if applicable)
- Reason for account deletion (optional)
Option 2: In-App Request
If available in your app version, you may request deletion from:
App Settings → Account → Delete Account
4. Data That Will Be Permanently Deleted
- User profile information (name, email, phone number)
- Login credentials and authentication tokens
- Linked device and app usage data
- Saved preferences and non-financial metadata
5. Data That May Be Retained
Certain data may be retained even after account deletion to comply with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and audit obligations.
- Transaction records
- Settlement and financial logs
- Tax, compliance, and fraud-prevention records
6. Data Retention Period
Financial and transaction-related records may be retained for a minimum of 5 to 7 years, as required under Indian laws, RBI guidelines, and other applicable regulations.
All other personal data will be deleted within 30 business days of successful verification of the deletion request.
7. Verification & Processing Time
- Identity verification may be required before deletion
- Request acknowledgment: within 72 business hours
- Final deletion completion: within 30 business days
